Bucs Edge Lions 62-61

FLORENCE, Ala.-After leading for nearly the entire game, the Christian Brothers University Bucs rallied for a 62-61 win Saturday at North Alabama as Sidy Sall (Dakar, Senegal, Seeds Academy) scored the game-winning layup with eight seconds remaining.

The Bucs (8-5, 5-4 GSC) used an 8-0 run midway through the first half to extend their lead to 23-14 on a Trey Casey (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle HS) triple with 6:46 remaining in the half. After the Lions (5-9, 2-6) battled back to tie the game again early in the second half, a 7-0 CBU run capped by a Sall layup put the Bucs back in front 37-30 with 15:19 remaining in the game.}

UNA regained the lead when a Jeff Hodge triple put them ahead 61-60 with 2:17 remaining. After the teams traded misses, Ryan Fleming (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle HS) found Sall for the game-winner with eight seconds remaining. The Lions' three-point attempt at the buzzer missed, giving CBU the victory.
