COLUMBUS, Ga.-Saint Leo scored three first-half goals as they rolled to a 5-0 victory over the Christian Brothers University Bucs Thursday afternoon at Columbus State University's Walden Soccer Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• The Lions (5-4-0) jumped to an early 1-0 lead in the fourth minute, when Maximilian Schulze-Geisthovel scored on a volley off a corner kick from Matthias Katerna.
• SLU tacked on another score in the 29th minute as Matt Campbell scored off a cross from Josh Davis.
• The Lions extended the margin to 3-0 in the 34th minute as Katerna scored on a penalty kick after he had been fouled while taking a shot near the penalty spot.
• Katerna scored again in the 53rd minute as he capitalized off a cross from Bafou Sanogo.
• The Lions capitalized on another corner kick in the 66th minute as Nicolas Krause headed in a corner kick from Christopher Puente.
KEY STATS:• The Lions out-shot the Bucs (10-4-0) 15-5 for the game, including an 8-2 edge in shots on goal.
