Wolves Shoot Down Bucs 83-73

CARROLLTON, Ga.-The Christian Brothers University Bucs held host West Georgia to a season-low 83 points, but the Wolves claimed an 83-73 win Thursday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• After the first 14 minutes were back and forth, the Wolves (6-4, 3-2) used a 24-7 run sandwiching the halftime break to open a 49-33 lead on a Steph Branch three-pointer with 18 minutes remaining.
• UWG extended its lead to as many as 21 points, but the Bucs (4-6, 3-2) used a 14-4 run to pull within 79-71 on a Cody Garbuzinski (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) layup with 2:12 remaining, but the Bucs were unable to come any closer.

KEY STATS:
Jeff Larkin (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle HS) scored 18 points with five rebounds and two steals.
Adam Dieball (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota East HS) scored a career-high 18 points with four rebounds and four assists, shooting 6-of-12 from the floor and 6-of-6 at the free throw line.
Drew Hildreth (Memphis, Tenn./Bolton HS) tacked on 15 points with 11 rebounds for his fourth double-double in the last five games.
• CBU shot 43.6 percent (24-of-55) for the game, but they were just 3-of-14 (21.4 percent) from three-point range.
• The Wolves were 54.2 percent (32-of-59) overall, including 52.9 percent (9-of-17) from beynd the arc.
• UWG out-rebounded the Bucs 33-31, but CBU held a 9-8 edge in offensive rebounds. The Bucs committed a season-high 24 turnovers while forcing 21.

NOTABLE:
• CBU's 24 turnovers were the most they have committed in a game since 2005-06. CBU last committed 24 Dec. 1, 2005 at North Alabama, and the last time they committed more was Nov. 19, 2005 against Findlay.

WHAT'S NEXT:
The Bucs wrap up their four-game road trip Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. as they visit West Alabama. Their next home game is Thursday, Dec. 31, as they host Trevecca Nazarene at 4 p.m.
