Bucs Sink Crimson Wave 5-1

MEMPHIS-Four Christian Brothers University pitchers combined for a one-hitter as the Bucs won 5-1 over Calumet-St. Joseph Wednesday afternoon at a frigid Nadicksbernd Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Bucs (6-4) struck first with a two-out rally in the bottom of the first inning. Myles Holliman (Germantown, Tenn./Germantown HS) worked a two-out walk and stole second, moving to third on a wild pitch. Mac Cooley (Bartlett, Tenn./Horn Lake HS) doubled into the gap in left-center to score Holliman, and the Bucs took a 1-0 lead.
• CBU tacked on four runs in the fifth inning. Casey Goodwin (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) started the rally with a one-out double down the left field line, and he moved to third when Mickey Smith (Arlington, Tenn./Arlington HS) bounced a single up the middle. After Holliman drove Goodwin in with a groundout, Cameron Coker (Germantown, Tenn./Germantown HS) hit an RBI double to left center to give the Bucs a 3-0 lead. Cooley blasted a home run to left to extend the Bucs' lead to 5-0.
• The Crimson Wave (0-1) scored their run in the top of the sixth inning after a leadoff hit batter and three two-out walks.
