MEMPHIS-No. 11 Alabama-Huntsville scored 13 runs over the final two innings as they pulled away to a 17-0 win over the Christian Brothers University Bucs Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• The Chargers (32-6-1, 18-6-1 GSC) took an early lead in the top of the first on a double and a Chandler Brock two-run homer.
• UAH doubled its lead in the top of the fifth on a two-out, two-run Colton Simbeck homer after a leadoff walk.
• The Chargers blew it open with an eight-run sixth inning on two walks, three singles, a double and a homer.
• UAH set the final margin with five runs in the seventh on three walks, two singles and three doubles.
KEY STATS:•
Mac Cooley (Bartlett, Tenn./Horn Lake HS) went 1-for-2 for the only CBU (9-21, 4-16) hit of the day against UAH starter Tyler Howell.
