MEMPHIS-Visiting Delta State scored 11 runs in the first two innings on their way to a 20-0 win over the Christian Brothers University Bucs Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference game.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• The Statesmen (15-12) scored two runs in the top of the first on two walks and four hit batters.
• DSU blew it open in the top of the second with nine runs on four walks, two hit batters, a single, a double and a triple.
• The Statesmen added a run to their lead in the top of the fifth on a double and a single.
• DSU tacked on eight more in the top of the seventh inning, on three singles, three doubles, two walks and two hit batters.
KEY STATS:•
Blain Curtis (Atoka, Tenn./Tipton Rosemark Academy) had the first hit for the Bucs (9-18) when he singled in the bottom of the third inning.

Trey Keppen (Germantown, Tenn./Germantown HS) singled in the seventh for the Bucs' other hit.

Cale Alexander (Bartlett, Tenn./Tipton-Rosemark Academy) threw a scoreless seventh inning.
NOTABLE:• CBU tied the GSC single-game record with nine hit batters.
WHAT'S NEXT:The Bucs return to action this weekend as they host No. 11 Alabama-Huntsville for a GSC series. Saturday's doubleheader starts at noon, with a single game set for 1 p.m. Sunday.
