SAINT CHARLES, Mo.-An 83rd-minute goal by senior forward
Samuel Wilson (Memphis, Tenn., Christian Brothers HS) lifted the No. 19 Christian Brothers University Bucs to a 2-1 win at No. 7 Lindenwood Friday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• The Lions (2-1-1) opened the scoring in the 29th minute as Nijaz Muratovic found the net after a cross into the box from Steven Hutchison.
• The Bucs (3-0-0) equalized in the 43rd minute when
Carlos Meza Amador (Tampico, Mexico/IEST Valles) headed in a cross from
Brendan Bennett (Belfast, Northern Ireland/St. Mary's Christian Brothers Grammar School) for his second goal of the season.
• Wilson provided the game-winner unassisted in the 83rd minute, scoring a goal for the third consecutive game and the game-winner for the second straight game.
KEY STATS:• Wilson, Meza Amador and
Xavi Lao (Barcelona, Spain/Escola Pia Sabadell) each took a pair of shots for CBU.
• The Lions out-shot the Bucs 12-9 for the game, but CBU held a 5-4 edge in shots on goal.
