Bucs Outlast Bisons 3-2

MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University Bucs used a pair of second-half goals to take control of a 3-2 win over Harding Friday night at Signaigo Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Bisons (12-4-0) struck first in the 17th minute as Jeremy Nwonumah scored off the rebound after Viktor Hoestbo (Stenloese, Denmark/Oesterhoejskolen) saved the first shot from Barry Foster.
• CBU (7-6-0) equalized three minutes later, when Dalton Marin (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) sent a cross in to Bernado Ferreira (Torres Vedras, Portugal/Secundaria Madeira Torres), who scored in the upper left corner of the goal.
• The Bucs took the lead for good in the 52nd minute when Xavi Lao (Barcelona, Spain/Escola Pia Sabadell) curved a free kick in the top right corner.
Jannick Baumer (Emmendingen, Germany/Goethe-Gymnasium Emmendingen) provided the eventual game-winner in the 67th minute as he scored unassisted.
• Harding drew within a goal in the 76th minute as Nwonumah scored again after Foster sent a throughball ahead to him on the left side.

KEY STATS:
• The Bucs out-shot Harding 19-18 for the game, including a 10-9 edge in shots on goal.
• CBU's 19 shots were a season-high and the most since taking 22 shots against Rhodes in 2015.

WHAT'S NEXT:
The Bucs close out their GSC schedule Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. as they visit Union. Their final home game is Saturday night, Oct. 29, against Auburn-Montgomery.
