Bisons Down Bucs 79-57

SEARCY, Ark.-The Christian Brothers University Bucs shot a season-low 12.5 percent from three-point range Tuesday night in a 79-57 loss at Harding.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Bisons (3-1)jumped to an early lead when a Stefan Andelkovic layup capped a 15-3 burst that gave them a 17-9 lead with 10:54 remaining in the first half.
• CBU (2-2) steadily cut into the Harding lead, closing within 27-25 on back-to-back Jeff Larkin (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle HS) layups with 3:17 remaining in the first half.
• Harding out-scored the Bucs 12-0 over the final three minutes of the first half, opening a 39-25 lead at halftime on a Filip Medjo three-point play.
• After a Mitch Mays (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota East HS) layup opened the second half, the Bisons scored the next eight to extend their lead to 47-27 on a Will Francis three-point play, and the Bucs never came closer than 14 points again.

KEY STATS:
• Larkin led the Bucs with 18, adding four rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Alex Trentman (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart HS) scored 12 with eight rebounds.
Cody Garbuzinski (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) added eight with four rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
• The Bucs shot 39.3 percent (22-of-56) from the floor, including 12.5 percent (3-of-24) from three-point range. The 12.5 percent three-point percentage tied for the Bucs' worst night from three-point range since March 1, 2008, when they shot 2-for-23 in a win over Harding. CBU was also 12.5 percent (2-of-16) in a loss at Northern Kentucky Nov. 19, 2010.
• Harding shot 54.3 percent (25-of-46) overall, including 38.9 percent (7-of-18) from beyond the arc.
• The Bisons out-rebounded CBU 34-28, but the Bucs held a 6-4 edge in offensive boards. The Bucs committed 16 turnovers to Harding's 15.

WHAT'S NEXT:
The Bucs play two more on the road next week, beginning Tuesday night at 8 p.m. when they open GSC play at Union. Their next home game is Wednesday, Dec. 7, when they host No. 8 Bellarmine at 7 p.m.
