VALDOSTA, Ga.-Host Valdosta State shot 54 percent from the field as they cruised to a 90-59 win over the Christian Brothers University Bucs Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• After the teams traded baskets and leads in the first six minutes, the Blazers (15-9, 11-8 GSC) rattled off a 25-6 run to take a 32-14 lead on a Blake Justice jumper with 6:39 remaining in the first half.
• VSU built its lead to as many as 25 points early in the second half before the Bucs (11-14, 9-10) used a 10-1 run to pull within 54-38 on a
Jeff Larkin (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle HS) layup with 14:01 remaining.
• The Blazers answered that burst with an 11-0 run capped by a Josh Lemons layup that gave them a 65-38 lead with 11:44 remaining, and the Bucs never came closer than 25 in the final minutes.
KEY STATS:• Larkin led the Bucs with 22 points and two steals.

Jordan Miller (Fulton, Ky./Fulton City HS) scored 16 with 11 rebounds in 32 minutes.

Drew Hildreth (Memphis, Tenn./Bolton HS) tacked on points with eight rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
• The Bucs shot 39.1 percent (25-of-64) overall but just 17.6 percent (3-of-17) from three-point range.
• Valdosta was 53.6 percent (37-of-69) from the floor, including 30.8 percent (8-of-26) from beyond the arc.
• The Blazers out-rebounded CBU 46-30, including a 14-11 edge in offensive boards. They forced 12 CBU turnovers while committing 10.
