HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Chargers (20-5, 17-3 GSC) led for nearly the entire game, but the Bucs (11-15, 9-11) never allowed them to pull away.
• UAH first opened up a six-point lead when Seab Webster scored five straight points to take a 16-10 lead with 13:38 remaining in the first half, but the Bucs scored the next seven to take a 17-16 edge on an Alex Trentman (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart HS) jumper with 12:08 remaining.
• After UAH steadily built its lead back to five at 28-23 on a Brandon Roberts layup with 8:14 remaining, the Bucs used a 7-1 spurt to take a 30-29 edge on a #J.T. Moody# three-pointer with 5:34 remaining in the half.
• The Chargers opened a double-digit lead on a Troy Saxton layup with 17:42 remaining, but the Bucs again answered, cutting the deficit to 50-46 when Jeff Larkin (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle HS) found Drew Hildreth (Memphis, Tenn./Bolton HS) for a dunk.
• UAH answered with a 9-1 run, building a 59-47 lead on a Justin Ward three-pointer with 11:13 remaining.
• Yet again, the Bucs responded, using a 10-3 burst to close within 65-60 on a Trentman three-point play with 6:56 remaining.
• After UAH extended its lead to 71-62 on a pair of Brandon Roberts free throws with 5:05 to play, the Bucs had one last run. Jeff Larkin (Cincinnati, Ohio/La Salle HS) sparked it with a three-pointer, and Miller capped it by sinking a free throw with 38.1 seconds remaining to bring the Bucs within 73-70.
