MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University Bucs scored five runs in the seventh inning as they rallied for a 7-4 win at Rhodes Tuesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Lynx (19-18) struck first with two runs in the bottom of the second inning on a walk, a single, a double and a sacrifice fly.
• CBU (8-29) halved the deficit in the top of the fourth.
Caleb Goodwin (Shreveport, La./Evangel Christian Academy) singled and moved to second on a wild pitch. After reaching third on a groundout, he scored on a
Mickey Smith (Arlington, Tenn./Arlington HS) single to right-center.
• Rhodes added another run in the sixth on a double and a single.
• The Bucs took the lead with a five-run seventh.
Jeff Goodwin (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) was hit by a pitch to start the inning and stole second. He scored on a
Lucas Castleberry (Bryant, Ark./Bryant HS) single, and
Casey Goodwin (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) was hit by a pitch with one out. After a groundout moved them up to second and third, a two-out Caleb Goodwin single brought them home.
Hunter Howard (Chelsea, Ala./Chelsea HS) followed with a single, and a Smith walk loaded the bases for
Trey Keppen (Germantown, Tenn./Germantown HS), who hit a two-run single through the left side to give the Bucs a 6-3 edge.
• CBU used aggressive baserunning to tack on another run in the top of the eighth. After
Michael Halley (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) reached on an error, he moved to third on a one-out Casey Goodwin single, and he scored on a
Joe Mattson (Nashville, Tenn./Franklin Road Academy) sacrifice fly to the second baseman.
• The Lynx scored one in the ninth to set the final margin, using a walk, an error and a sacrifice fly to bring home the game's final run.

Cale Alexander (Bartlett, Tenn./Tipton-Rosemark Academy) earned the win, throwing two innings of relief while pitching around two hits and a walk.

Will Rutledge (Nashville, Tenn./Father Ryan HS) tossed two scoreless innings of relief with a hit and two walks against two strikeouts.

Ryan Abone (Germantown, Tenn./Houston HS) allowed one unearned run on a hit and a walk.

The Bucs hit the road this weekend for a GSC series at Lee. Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's single game are both set for 1 p.m. starts. Their next home game is set for Tuesday, April 19, as they face Blue Mountain at 3 p.m.
