MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University Bucs scored a season high 7 goals in a shutout win over GSC opponent Auburn Montgomery, the most they've put on the board since 2009.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Bucs (6-4-0, 5-1-0 GSC) opened the scoring in the 3rd minute as
Patrick Power (Liverpool, England/St. Mary's College) crossed the ball from the left corner for an assist to
Brendan Bennett (Belfast, Northern Ireland/St. Mary's Christian Brothers Grammar School) who made a run at the back post and one touched the ball out of the air into the back of the net.
• CBU capitalized on a turnover from the Warhawks (0-11-0, 0-4-0 GSC) in the 6th minute, when Patrick Power provided another assist from the left corner to Brendan Bennett, who scored in an identical fashion as the first goal.
• In the final minute of the first half,
Adam Schellang (Madisonville, La./St. Paul's HS) sent a throughball into
Djordje Djordjovic (Basin, Serbia/Palanacka Gimnazija), who trapped the ball and curved it around the goalie into the upper left corner of the goal.
• Brendan Bennett completed his hat-trick in the 51st minute, when he launched a ball into the back of the net just under the crossbar from 25 yards out.
• #Xavi Lao# got on the scoreboard in the 57th minute by placing a penalty shot into the lower right corner of the net.
• CBU scored again in the 65th minute when
Bernado Ferreira (Torres Vedras, Portugal/Secundaria Madeira Torres) curled a ball around the goalie into the right side of the net.
• With his back to the goal and the ball bouncing over his head,
Daniel Rodman (Nelson, B.C./L.V. Rogers HS) scored his first goal of the season by jumping up and bicycle-kicking the ball though several defenders and past the goalie.
KEY STATS:

Viktor Hoestbo (Stenloese, Denmark/Oesterhoejskolen) and
Ricardo Lao (Barcelona, Spain/Escola Pia Sabadell) combined to make three saves and give the Bucs their fourth GSC shutout of the season.
• CBU out-shot the Bulldogs 21-6, including a 10-3 edge in shots on goal.
NOTABLE:
• CBU's 7 goals is their highest total in a game since an 11-0 win iver rust in August 2009
• CBU's 7 goals is the most in a conference game since a 10-1 win over Lincoln Memorial in October 2003.
