MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University Bucs and visiting Montevallo played to a 1-1 tie Sunday afternoon at Signaigo Field, with each team scoring on a second-half penalty. With the tie, the Bucs move into a tie for first place in the GSC standings with four games to play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• After a scoreless first half, the Falcons (5-3-2, 2-1-2 GSC) struck first in the 71st minute as Joshua Keller converted a penalty after the Bucs (6-4-1, 5-1-1) were whistled for a foul in the box breaking up a Montevallo scoring opportunity.
• In the 77th minute, the Bucs earned a penalty of their own as Montevallo committed a handball while trying to clear a cross inside the 18-yard box.
Xavi Lao (Barcelona, Spain/Escola Pia Sabadell) converted the penalty for his sixth goal of the season, making him a perfect 3-for-3 on penalties this season as he equalized.
• From there, both goalkeepers shined as neither team was able to score in the run of play.

• Each team took 16 shots in the game, with the Bucs holding a 9-8 edge in shots on goal.
