MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University Bucs rallied from a 4-0 deficit, including three two-out runs in the top of the ninth inning, as they rallied for a 6-4 win at Rhodes Wednesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Lynx (17-16) scored two runs in the first inning on two walks and a double.
• Rhodes added two runs to its lead in the bottom of the second on two singles, a walk and an error.
• The Bucs (12-27) broke through in the sixth inning.
Kyle Hindman (Munford, Tenn./Munford HS) hit a one-out double down the left-field line, and he scored on a
Jeff Goodwin (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) single to right-center. After stealing second and moving to third on a
Taylor Angley-Holman (Redding, Calif./Enterprise HS) groundout, Goodwin scored on a
Joe Mattson (Nashville, Tenn./Franklin Road Academy) RBI single.
• CBU pulled within a run in the eighth as
Mickey Smith (Arlington, Tenn./Arlington HS) worked a leadoff walk and moved to third when Hindman reached on an error. Goodwin laid down a squeeze bunt to plate Smith and cut the Rhodes lead to 4-3.

Trey Keppen (Germantown, Tenn./Germantown HS) was hit by a 1-1 pitch to start the ninth-inning rally, but he was erased when
Taylor King (Water Valley, Miss./Water Valley HS) grounded into a force play. With two out, King stole second and then third, scoring when the throw to third sailed into left field.
Scott Pala (Hernando, Miss./Hernando HS) and Smith worked back-to-back walks. Hindman plated Pala with a single to left, and Goodwin's double down the right-field line brought Smith in to set the final margin at 6-4 CBU.

• Goodwin went 3-for-4 with a double, a steal and three RBI.
• Hindman was 2-for-4 with a double, a steal, a run and one RBI.
• Smith was 0-for-2 but walked twice and scored twice.
• Pala went 0-for-1 but walked and stole two bases.
• King was 0-for-3 but was hit by a pitch, stole two bases and scored a run.
• Mattson went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Ryan Abone (Germantown, Tenn./Houston HS) threw two and a third scoreless innings of relief, with two strikeouts against two hits.

Peyton McArthur (Senatobia, Miss./Senatobia HS) threw three shutout innings of relief, pitching around a hit and a walk with two strikeouts.

Gabe Brooks (Gastonia, N.C./Ashbrook HS) earned his first win with a scoreless eighth with two strikeouts against one hit.

Peyton Sanderlin (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) threw a scoreless ninth to earn his first save, pitching around a hit.
