MEMPHIS-Rob Gustitus threw a five-hit shutout to lead visiting Lee to a 6-0 win over the Christian Brothers University Bucs Friday afternoon at Nadicksbernd Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Flames (22-18, 10-15 GSC) gave Gustitus the only run he would need in the top of the third inning, scoring on two singles, a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly.
• Lee added two runs to its lead in the sixth inning on a walk and two doubles.
• The Flames took advantage of a costly two-out error in the eighth, plating three runs on two singles, the error and a double.
KEY STATS:

Joe Mattson (Nashville, Tenn./Franklin Road Academy) went 2-for-3 with a walk for the Bucs (12-28, 6-19).

Riley Kilgore (Cordova, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) was 1-for-4 with a double.

Jeff Goodwin (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) went 1-for-4 with a stolen base.

Taylor King (Water Valley, Miss./Water Valley HS) was 1-for-4.

Peyton Sanderlin (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) took the loss despite seven strong innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks against eight strikeouts.
