FLORENCE, Ala.-Host North Alabama swept a doubleheader from the Christian Brothers University Bucs Sunday afternoon, winning the first game 10-0 before handing the Bucs a 2-1 defeat in the nightcap.
GAME 1:
WHAT HAPPENED:
The Lions (30-15, 20-9 GSC) scored in five of the six innings they batted, including a six-run sixth, as they pulled away to a 10-0 win.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• UNA plated a run in the first on three singles.
• The Lions added another in the second on a double, a sacrifice bunt and a sacrifice fly.
• UNA tacked on another in the third on a double and a single.
• The Lions extended their lead to 4-0 in the fourth with a run on two singles, two stolen bases and a wild pitch.
• UNA blew it open with a six-run sixth, taking advantage of six singles and a two-run Kyle Hubbuch homer.
KEY STATS:

Riley Kilgore (Cordova, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) was 1-for-2.

Kyle Hindman (Munford, Tenn./Munford HS) went 1-for-2.

GAME 2:
WHAT HAPPENED:
For the second time this week, the Bucs (13-32, 7-22) suffered a heartbreaking loss in the bottom of the final inning, this time taking a 2-1 loss in the seventh.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Lions struck first with a third-inning run on a one-out double and a two-out single.
• CBU drew even with a run in the sixth.
Taylor Angley-Holman (Redding, Calif./Enterprise HS) singled but was erased when Goodwin grounded into a force play. Goodwin came around to score on a Hindman double.
• UNA scored the winning run in the seventh. After a single and a wild pickoff throw, the Bucs issued a pair of walks, one intentional to load the bases and set up a force play, but UNA's Davis Elliott singled to score the decisive run.
KEY STATS:
• Angley-Holman was 1-for-2.
• Hindman went 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI.

Taylor King (Water Valley, Miss./Water Valley HS) was 1-for-3.

Scott Pala (Hernando, Miss./Hernando HS) went 1-for-3.

Peyton Sanderlin (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) took the loss, surrendering two runs in six and a third innings as he scattered seven hits and four walks against six strikeouts.
WHAT'S NEXT:
The Bucs and Lions meet again Monday at 1 p.m. in the final game of the series. CBU added a non-conference game Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. as they face Rhodes at USA Stadium, They finish the season with a three-game home series against Shorter, with Saturday's doubleheader set for noon and a single game set for 1 p.m. Sunday.
