CLEVELAND, Tenn.- The Christian Brothers University Bucs and the Lee University Flames each scored two second-half goals, but failed to score again to end the game in a 2-2 double-overtime draw Friday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bucs (4-4-3, 3-1-3 GSC) opened up the scoring with a a penalty kick goal by Xavi Lao (Barcelona, Spain/Escola Pia Sabadell) in the 54th minute.
- Abib Keita (Abidjan, Ivory Coast/Germantown HS (Tenn.)) tacked on another goal for the Bucks in the 74th minute to extend the Bucs lead to 2-0.
- The Flames (7-3-3, 5-1-2) didn't take any time getting one back with an assist coming from Samir Williams leading to a goal from Jose Orellana in the 77th minute.
- Alfie Coldron for the Flames rounded out the scoring for the game with an unassisted goal in the 83rd minute.
KEY STATS:
- The Flames out-shot the Bucs, 21-12 for the game, including an 8-5 advantage in shots on goal.
- Lao's goal was his 4th on the season.
NOTABLE:
- The Bucs tied a school record for most ties in a season: this is the fifth time, the first since 2004, that CBU has tied three times.
- Before this season, CBU had never tied more than twice in a season in conference play.
