MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University Bucs allowed just eight hits over 16 innings Saturday, but visiting Northwestern Oklahoma State made the most of them as they claimed 2-0 and 6-3 wins to sweep the season-opening twinbill.
GAME 1: NWOSU 2, CBU O
WHAT HAPPENED:
CBU (0-2) hurler
Peyton Sanderlin (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) carried a no-hitter into the seventh and only allowed two hits on the day, but the Rangers (2-0) scored in the seventh and eighth innings to win 2-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• NWOSU (2-0) used a single and a double to put runners on second and third in the seventh, scoring the game's first run on a two-out wild pitch.
• The Rangers added an insurance tally in the eighth on a hit batter, a stolen base, an error and a sacrifice fly.
KEY STATS:

Jared Cramer (Olive Branch, Miss./DeSoto Central HS) belted a two-out double in the first for the Bucs' lone hit of the game. He finished 1-for-4.
• Sanderlin took the hard-luck loss despite allowing just one run on two hits and four walks. He struck out seven in six and two-thirds innings.

Nick Myers (Collierville, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) allowed an unearned run in one and a third innings of relief, with a walk and a strikeout.

Jonathan Baldelli (Bartlett, Tenn./Bartlett HS) pitched a hitless ninth with two strikeouts.
GAME 2: NWOSU 6, CBU 3
WHAT HAPPENED:
The Rangers scored two runs in three different innings to take a 6-3 win.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• NWOSU opened the scoring in the top of the second with two runs on a triple, a walk, a hit batter, an error and a single.
• The Rangers doubled their lead in the fourth on a two singles, a hit batter and an error.
• NWOSU extended its lead to 6-0 in the fifth with two more on two doubles, a hit batter and a wild pitch.
• The Bucs' bats broke through with three runs in the fifth.
Jaime Soto (Naples, Fla./Gulf Coast HS) led off with a single, and walks to
Nick Traylor (Germantown, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) and
Jeff Goodwin (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) loaded the bases for
Keagan Voss (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS), who reached on catcher's interference to bring home a run.
TJ Klutts (Atoka, Tenn./Brighton HS) brought Traylor home when he grounded into a force play, and
Brandon Dodd (Arlington, Tenn./Arlington HS) scored Goodwin with an infield single.Â

• Dodd went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
