Sanderlin's Shutout Carries Bucs Past Choctaws

CLINTON, Mississippi-Christian Brothers University senior righthander Peyton Sanderlin (Collierville, Tenn., Collierville HS) threw his second career shutout to lead the Bucs to a 2-0 win at Mississippi College Saturday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Bucs (10-25, 4-15 GSC) gave Sanderlin all the run support he would need in the top of the third inning. Nick Traylor (Germantown, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) led off with a single to left-center. After a one-out Taylor Angley-Holman (Redding, Calif./Enterprise HS) walk, Traylor moved to third when Angley-Holman was out on a force play, scoring when Brandon Dodd (Arlington, Tenn./Arlington HS) reached on a two-out error.
• CBU set the final margin with a two-out rally in the top of the ninth. TJ Klutts (Atoka, Tenn./Brighton HS) hit a two-out double to right-center and scored on a Keagan Voss (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) single to left-center.

KEY STATS:
• Sanderlin (4-6) blanked the Choctaws on five hits and three walks, striking out four as he went the distance.
• Traylor went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run.
• Klutts was 1-for-4 with a double.
• Voss went 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Jaime Soto (Naples, Fla./Gulf Coast HS) was 1-for-4 with a walk.
• Angley-Holman went 1-for-4 with a walk.

WHAT'S NEXT:
