Hot Shooting Helps No. 6 Lincoln Memorial Surge Past Bucs

HARROGATE, Tenn. - No. 6 Lincoln Memorial shot 58 percent from the floor, and made 13 three pointers in a 92-52 victory over the Christian Brothers University men's basketball team, on Saturday at B. Frank "Tex" Turner Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • After a jumper by Jarret Gassett pulled CBU to within five (15-10), with 11:07 left in the half, LMU closed out the opening 20 minutes on a 25-4 run to lead 40-14 at the half. 
  • The Railsplitters shot 51 percent in the first half, and held the Bucs to just 21.
  • LMU continued its hot shooting in the second half, missing just nine shots (17-for-26), while outscoring the Bucs 52-38. 

KEY STATS | NOTEABLES:
  • LMU finished the game shooting 58 percent (32-of-55) from the floor, including 13-for-30 from long range and 15-of-18 from the free throw stripe. 
  • The Bucs were held to just 29 percent (17-for-57) and 6-of-24 from three point range. 
  • Nick Deifel led the Bucs with 17 points and six rebounds. Joshua Jackson added 11 points to round out the double figure scorers for the Bucs.

  • The Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 19 when they will travel to Freed-Hardeman. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
