Auburn Montgomery Holds on to Defeat Bucs

MEMPHIS - Visiting Auburn Montgomery scored two goals during a one minute span, in the first half, and held on for a 2-0 win over the Christian Brothers University men's soccer team, on Saturday at Signaigo Field. Before the match, CBU honored its five seniors. 

The loss secured CBU the No. 5 seed in the upcoming Gulf South Conference Tournament, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, where the Bucs will travel to face Lee.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

37' | Both defenses dominated the first 30 minutes of play, but AUM found a breakthrough when Lucas Batistela slipped a pass to Thomas Carlile who found the back of the net.
38' | Just over one minute later Carlile took a headed pass, following a clearance, and slipped a shot inside through Viktor Hoestbo
HALF' | The Warhawks outshot the Bucs 7-2 in the first half. 
FINAL' | AUM withstood seven second half shots by CBU and held on for the win.

  • AUM outshot the Bucs 11-9.
  • The Bucs finished their season with a 4-4-1 record at Signaigo Field. 

UP NEXT
 The Bucs are scheduled to open the 2019 Gulf South Conference Tournament, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, when they travel to Lee. The Flames scored three second half goals in a 4-1  
 victory over the Bucs on Oct. 20.
