Rangers Blank Bucs in Series Finale


ALVA, Oklahoma- Northwestern Oklahoma's pitchers combined for a 10-0 shutout of the Christian Brothers University baseball team, in the series finale, on Sunday at Myers Stadium.

FINAL SCORE (7 innings): Northwestern Oklahoma (3-0) 10, Christian Brothers (0-3) 0

GAME CHANGER
  • The Northwestern starter, Brandon Nesseralla, threw five scoreless innings, allowing just four hits and striking out four batters. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • The Bucs were outhit 10-4.
  • Garett Reason-Kerkhoff led the Bucs with two hits (2-3, 2B & 1B), while Jeff Goodwin (1-3, 1B) and J.D. Goodspeed (1-3, 2B) tallied a hit each.
  • Four of the nine starters for the Rangers recorded a multi-hit game, while three of those four players also tallied a multi-RBI game. 

KEY PLAYS
  • The Rangers strung together two hits and capitalized off of a CBU error, in the third inning, to take the 3-0 lead.
  • Northwestern tacked on two more runs in the fourth inning to extend its lead to 5-0.
