BIRMINGHAM, Alabama- The Gulf South Conference announced Christian Brothers University women's basketball player,
Brynne Lytle, to the Academic All-GSC Team for winter sport athletes.
Lytle currently has a 3.60 grade point average in the discipline of Biology. She was also named a Buccaneer Silver Scholar for her exceptional performance as a student and an athlete.
On the court, the Jackson native was named to the All-GSC second team for her performance. Lytle led the Lady Bucs in scoring (16.4 ppg), three point percentage (.357), minutes (36.4 mpg), and blocks (nine), while she finished second in field goal percentage (.430), free throw percentage (.803), and rebounds (4.8).
Lytle's most impressive run of the season came in a three-game span from 2/02 to 2/11, where she totaled 27.3 points per contest, which included a 31 point game against West Georgia.
To be nominated for the Academic All-GSC Team, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and be starters or significant contributors to the team. Freshmen and first-semester transfers are ineligible. Sports Information Directors and Faculty Athletic Representatives of GSC member schools conduct a joint vote to select the winners.
The Academic Honor Roll comprises all players who carry at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA and participate in at least one game against outside competition.
