VALDOSTA, Georgia- The Valdosta State Blazers brought home eight runs in the first inning, which powered them to an 11-3 victory over Christian Brothers University Sunday afternoon.

GAME CHANGER

• The Blazers jumped out to an eight run lead, in the bottom half of the first frame, and held that lead until the final out of the ballgame.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• VSU outhit CBU 13-3.
• The Blazers' starter, Zach Blankenship, threw six scoreless innings, while allowing only two hits and striking out nine CBU hitters.
• All nine Valdosta State starters reached base safely in the ballgame.
• Keagan Voss led the Bucs' offense with two hits, while Kyle Hindman knocked in the lone run for CBU.

KEY PLAYS

• The Blazers erupted for a huge eight run first innings as they tallied seven hits and capitalized off of two CBU errors (8-0).
• The game was quiet for the next couple of innings until VSU extended their lead to 10-0 in the fifth frame.
