Bulldogs Sweep Doubleheader Against Bucs

JACKSON, Tennessee- Union University used an impressive offensive day to lead them to a doubleheader sweep against Christian Brothers University Saturday afternoon.


GAME 1: Union (14-32, 6-22 GSC) 8, CBU (9-36, 5-24 GSC) 3

GAME CHANGER
  • The Bulldogs put five runs on the board, in the sixth inning, which gave them the edge they needed to defeat the Bucs.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Union outhit CBU 11-6.
  • The Bulldogs hit five doubles in the ballgame.
  • Keagan Voss recorded two stolen bases in the game.
  • J.D. Goodspeed led the Bucs' offense with two base knocks, while Hunter Howard, Jared Cramer, Jaime Soto, and Garett Reason-Kerkhoff finished with one hit a piece.
  • CBU's starting pitcher, Ryan Taylor, finished his outing with eight strikeouts.
  • Reason-Kerkhoff and Howard notched a base hit which extends their hit streak to five consecutive games.

  • Four homers were hit in the ballgame. UU with three and CBU one.
  • Bailey Jones clubbed his second homer of the season.
  • Kyle Hindman led the Bucs' offense with three hits, while Jones and Reason-Kerkhoff followed with two a piece.
