MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University Bucs took on the Dragons of Lane College, Monday evening in Canale Arena. The Bucs' dominant offensive night helped CBU control the lead for the entire contest, which resulted in a 84-65 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- CBU pounced out to an early 9-0 lead, which came from three points from Daryl Lewis and two threes by Brad Miller (18:26 remaining in first half).
- Lane sunk a three pointer with 13:48 remaining in the first half to narrow the Bucs' lead to two points (14-12). This was as close as the Dragons got to the lead.
- The Bucs went on a couple of impressive scoring runs for the remaining of the first half to go into the locker room leading 45-36.
- CBU started the second half the same way they did the first, on a scoring run. The Bucs went on a 11-4 scoring run, with 15:38 remaining in the ballgame, to begin the half to extend their lead to 16 points (56-40).
- The Bucs controlled the rest of the contest as they extended their lead, at one point, to 21 points. CBU went on to win the ballgame 84-65.
KEY STATS | NOTABLES:
- Aiden Ruthsatz set a new career high in points with 17, while shooting 50 percent (5-for-10) from the field and knocking down three threes. He tallied four boards and four assists as well.
- Miller tied his career high in points, while also leading the game with 24 points. He was able to record seven dimes, two steals, and a rebound.
- Miller sunk six threes in the contest (6-for-11), which helped lead the Bucs to shooting 55 percent (11-of-20) from downtown.
- Lewis was a menace on both ends of the court as he tallied 20 points, six rebounds, three steals, and an assist.
- Jaret Gassett set a new career high in rebounds with eight.
- CBU outshot Lane from the field and from downtown. CBU shot 55.8 percent from the field, while Lane was held to 41.7 percent. CBU sunk 55 percent of their three pointers and Lane shot 27.3 beyond the arc.

The Bucs travel to Clinton, Miss. to take on conference foe Mississippi College on Thurs., Jan. 16th. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
