HUNTSVILLE - The Christian Brothers University Bucs opened up their 2020 play against the University of Alabama in Huntsville on Saturday afternoon. The Chargers used their first half advantage (41-14) over the Bucs to propel them to a 66-52 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- UAH jumped out of the gates fast as they went on a 24-5 scoring run to begin the game. They rode this impressive run until the 10:25 mark in the first half.
- A Daryl Lewis layup with 1:25 remaining in the first half rounded out the scoring for the Bucs as they went into the locker room. The Chargers hot start led to a 41-14 lead at the half.
- The second half was controlled by CBU, but they didn't have enough to complete the comeback effort.
- The Bucs ended the game on a 20-5 scoring run, but the Chargers' impressive scoring in the first half was enough to fend off the Bucs (66-52).
KEY STATS | NOTABLES:
- Lewis led the offensive attack for CBU as he recorded 13 points, while nine of those points came from beyond-the-arc.
- Tylar Haynes finished one point behind Lewis as he tallied 12. He was also able to record three blocks in the contest.
- Joshua Jackson was a stat sheet stuffer as he recorded six points, five rebounds, four steals, and a block.
