MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University Bucs squared up against conference foe West Alabama Tigers on Thursday evening, in Canale Arena. The Tigers used a strong rebounding night (35 UWA-24 CBU) to down the Bucs 69-51.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Both teams traded blows for the first 10 minutes of the first half, but the Tigers took the lead from a Mike Davis three ball with 10:05 remaining in the half. UWA held this league until the final horn.
- UWA went on a 14-5 scoring run halfway the half to extend their lead to double digits (30-20).
- The Tigers took a 10 point lead into the half as they led the Bucs 36-26.
- A UWA three pointer with 3:15 left in the contest extended their lead to the biggest of the game (25 points).
- The Bucs ended the the game on a 11-4 scoring run, but it was too late to make a comeback. The Tigers held on to win 69-51.
KEY STATS | NOTABLES:
- Aiden Ruthsatz set a new career high in points with 15. He added seven rebounds, one assists, and a steal to his line.
- Brad Miller was the only other CBU player to finish the game with double digit points (13). Miller finished the game with five assists.
- Daryl Lewis filled up the stat sheet as he recorded eight points, three rebounds, three steals, and a block.
- UWA's bench outscored CBU's 28-6.
