MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University men's basketball team used a 21-1 second half run, in a 76-61 win, on Thursday night, at Canale Arena.
The contest was the Gulf South Conference opener for both teams.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A closely contested first half, that saw neither team lead by more than five points, finished with CBU holding on to a narrow 35-33 lead.
- With 15:23 left, Shorter used a layup to take a 45-44 lead.
- CBU then used a 21-1 run, over the next 8:26 to take a 65-46 lead.
- The Bucs capitalized on nine Shorter turnovers during the run.
- Shorter scored 15 of its 28 second half points in the final 6:45 of the contest.
KEY STATS | NOTEABLES:
- The Bucs dominated the glass 45-33.
- CBU had 10 players record at least one rebound.
- Daniel Loos fiished with a career-high 26 points with six rebounds.
- Aiden Ruthsatz (13) and Nick Deifel (12) rounded out the double-figure scorers for CBU.
- Christian Jones stuffed the stat sheet with eight points, seven rebounds, six assists and five steals.
- Jones and Luke Gdowski led CBU with seven boards apiece.
- CBU finished with 26 points off 19 Shorter turnovers.
