MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Christian Brothers University baseball team was swept on opening day of the 2021 season, on Saturday afternoon, at Q.V. Lowe Field. The Warhawks earned an 8-1 victory in game one and held on for a 12-6 win in the nightcap.
GAME ONE: AUM 8 (2-2, 2-2 GSC) CBU 1 (0-1, 0-1 GSC) (9)
GAME CHANGER:
- The Bucs committed five errors in the game one loss.

- The Warhawks finished the game with a 10-4 advantage in hits.

- The Warhawks pushed five runs across the board in the first inning.

- The Warhawks finished the game with a 13-10 advantage in hits.

J.D. Goodspeed went 3-for-5 with an RBI double in the fifth.

Luke Wewers went 2-for-3 with two hits and two runs, including an RBI double in the fifth.

Travis Cole added two hits, including an RBI single in the ninth.
KEY PLAYS:
- AUM used two CBU errors to put up a five spot in the first inning.
- The Bucs responded with two runs in the second to trail 5-2.
- CBU put up two more runs in the fifth, on RBI doubles by Wewers and Goodspeed, to cut the lead to 6-4.
