MEMPHIS - West Alabama used a 19-6 run, in the middle of the second half, and held on for a 65-59 win over the Christian Brothers University men's basketball team on Monday evening, at Canale Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CBU led for a majority of the first half, but the Tigers used a 16-9 spurt to go to the half tied at 31.
- With 14:51 left in the game, a pair of free throws by Nick Deifel gave the Bucs a 41-36 lead.
- From there, the Tigers went on a 23-5 run to take a 59-46 lead.
- A jumper by Aiden Ruthsatz with just over a minute left got the Bucs to within 64-59
- CBU had the ball with just over 30 seconds remaining, but were unable to get a shot to fall.
KEY STATS | NOTEABLES:
- The Bucs were outscored 34-28 in the second half.
- UWA shot 50 percent from the floor in the second half (11-of-22).
- The Bucs were solid at the free throw line, knocking down 16-of-19 shots. Not to be outdone, UWA finished 16-of-22.
- West Alabama narrowly won the battle of the backboards, 26-23.
- Aiden Ruthsatz led the Bucs with 14 points.
- Daniel Loos tied a career-high with 13 points, and Nick Deifel and Daryl Lewis added 11 points apiece.
