Daniel Loos handed off to
Aiden Ruthsatz, who then drained the game-winner from 30 feet to help give the Christian Brothers University men's basketball team a 69-66 buzzer-beating victory over Union, on Friday night, at Fred DeLay Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A back and forth opening 10 minutes ended with the hosts leading 13-7.
- Union pushed its lead to 22-14 with 6:27 left, but a Ruthsatz three pointer helped cut the Union lead to 29-26 at the half.
- The Bulldogs led by as many as nine points multiple times in the second half, including a 60-51 advantage with 6:37 left.
- CBU used a 10-2 run to make it a 62-61 game with 2:45 left.
- After Jesse Payne IV knocked down a game-tying three pointer with 49 seconds left, the teams traded layups over the next 40 seconds.
- Following a layup by Daniel Loos, with nine seconds left, the Bucs forced a turnover with three seconds left.
- Unguarded under his own basket, Deifel heaved a pass to Loos, who found Ruthsatz for the game-winner.
KEY STATS | NOTEABLES:
- With the win, the Bucs snapped a four-game losing streak to their in-state rivals.
- The Bucs managed the win, despite allowing Union a 71 percent (17-of-24) effort from the floor in the second half.
- Not to be outdone, the Bucs were 17-of-28 (61 percent), including 4-for-7 from three point range.
- Union finished with a 23-22 edge on the boards.
- Loos scored a career-high 16 points to lead the Bucs. The Clarksville, Tenn., native has scored at least 13 points in three of the last four games.
- Daryl Lewis (15), Christian Jones (12), and Ruthsatz (11) rounded out the double-figure scorers for CBU.
