West Alabama Rallies Late To Defeat Bucs

Livingston, Ala. – West Alabama scored two runs in the sixth, one in the seventh and two more in the eighth to help it defeat the Christian Brothers University baseball team 10-8, on Friday evening, at Tartt Field.

GAME CHANGER:
- The Bucs walked the bases loaded in the eighth, before surrendering the go-ahead runs.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Bucs finished the game with a 12-7 advantage in hits.
- Luke Wewers went 2-for-3 with a double, a two run home-run and four RBI's.
- Keagan Voss went 3-for-5 with a walk and two runs scored.
- J.D Goodspeed and Reid Voss also collected two hits in the contest.
- Starting pitcher Jonathan Baldelli racked up six strikeouts in 5.1 innings.

KEY PLAYS:
- After Jaime Soto's RBI walk in the first, UWA capitalized on a Bucs miscue, which allowed the Tigers to lead 2-1 after one.
- The Bucs answered with two runs in the second, but the Tigers answered back with three runs of their own.
- With CBU trailing 5-3 in the fifth, Luke Wewers smacked a two run-homer to left field to tie the game at five.
- CBU capitalized on a pair of errors to score runs in the sixth and seventh. 
- Trailing 8-7 in the seventh UWA tied the game on a passed ball. 
- After three straight walks, in the eighth, UWA scored what proved to be the game-winning run on a sacrifice fly. 

UP NEXT:
The Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, February 27 to complete the weekend series against West Alabama. First pitch for the doubleheader is scheduled for 1pm.
