No. 13 West Florida Hits Way Past Bucs

PENSACOLA, Fla. – After holding No. 13 West Florida to just six runs in 20 innings, the Christian Brothers University baseball team suffered a 14-2 setback, on Sunday, at Jim Spooner Field. 

FINAL: UWF 14 (17-5, 16-5 GSC) CBU 2 (2-16, 2-16 GSC) 
 
GAME CHANGER:
-West Florida scored seven runs in the first inning.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Bucs finished the game with a 13-10 advantage in hits.
- CBU left at least two runners on base in five of seven innings. 
- Jaime Soto, Luke Wewers, Larry Hubbard and Payne Smith all recorded two hits apiece. 
- Wewers and Antonio Fernandez drove in the CBU runs. 

KEY PLAYS:
- UWF sent 12 batters to the plate in the first, scoring seven runs on five hits. 
- The Argonauts scored two more runs in the second and added five in the third. 
- CBU scored its runs in the third and fourth innings.  

UP NEXT:
The Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, March 23, when they host Harding for a non-conference contest. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
