ROME, Ga.- Shorter starting pitcher Ryan Pitcher threw 8.2 innings and allowed just five hits in a 4-1 win over the Christian Brothers University baseball team, on Saturday afternoon, at Ledbetter Baseball Complex.

- Ryan Parker threw 8.2 innings, allowing one run on five hits, while striking out seven.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Shorter finished the game with a 10-5 advantage in hits.

KEY PLAYS:
- The Hawks got on the board first with a two-out homer, by Jacob Pajer, to lead 2-0 after three.
- Jakob Woods added to the Hawks lead with a sac-fly in the fourth.
- In the fifth, the Hawks took advantage of a stolen base by Matt Christian, and followed it with an RBI double by Bailey Gerstner to extend the lead to 4-0.
- CBU got on the board in the ninth, as it took advantage of Shorter's fourth error of the game to cut the lead to 4-1.
- With the tying run at the plate, Shorter relief pitcher Kevin Ludden, recorded the final out of the game.
