Brynne Lytle was
named to the 2020-21 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team on Thursday, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and the NAIA. Lytle, who has a 3.79 GPA in Biomedical Sciences was one of just five student-athletes to earn a spot on the All-District 5 Team.
The Jackson, Tenn., native was recently named the first Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-American in program history after she finished a season that saw her lead NCAA Division II with 25.6 points per game.
As an Academic All-District First Team selection, Lytle will automatically be placed on the Academic All-America ballots. First, second and third team Academic All-America selections will be announced May 28.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District teams are divided into geographical districts across the United States and Canada. To be eligible for Academic All-District and All-America distinction, nominees must have reached at least sophomore academic standing and have a 3.30 GPA or higher to go along with legitimate on-court contributions.
