NASHVILLE - The Christian Brothers University volleyball team claimed its wins of the season on the final day of the Ray Thrasher Memorial Tournament. The Lady Bucs earned a hard fought 3-2 victory against Erskine, before defeating Fisk 3-0, on Saturday, at Trojan Fieldhouse.
The victories marked the first back-to-back wins for the Lady Bucs since they defeated Shorter and Rollins in 2019 (Oct. 12-18).
CBU 3, Erskine 2 (25-18, 25-17, 17-25, 14-25, 15-8)
WHAT HAPPENED: The Lady Bucs took the first two sets, but it took five to defeat Erskine 3-2. CBU finished with a 54-50 advantage in kills.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After leading 11-8, the Lady Bucs never led by less than four points as they took the first set 25-18.
- CBU started off the second set in similar fashion and closed with a 5-0 run to take the 2-0 lead.
- After Erskine took the next two sets, CBU hit .409 in the fifth to earn the win.

NOTEABLES:
- The win was the Lady Bucs first win since earning a 3-2 victory over Valdosta State on Oct. 25, 2019.
- The victory marked the first career win for head coach, Bre Lewis.
CBU 3, Fisk 0 (25-9, 25-18, 25-18)
WHAT HAPPENED: The Lady Bucs hit a season-high .280, while holding Fisk to just -.058.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the first set, CBU hit .500 and cruised its way to a 25-9 win.
- In the second, CBU and Fisk were tied 10-10, before CBU used a late 8-2 run to take the set.
- In the deciding set, CBU held Fisk to a -.240 hitting percentage to earn the sweep.
KEY STATS:
- Tia Rizvi led the Lady Bucs with eight kills and four blocks.
- Aldon Pilz finished with a career-high 15 assists.
- Kimmy Hammond collected eight digs, five assists, and four aces in the contest.
- CBU finished with a 31-18 advantage in blocks.
