HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a bucket by VSU cut the CBU lead to 20-18, with 8:33 left in the half, the Bucs used an 18-6 run to take a 38-24 lead into halftime.
- The Bucs shot 45 percent in the first half (13-29), while holding the visitors to just 36 percent (9-25). CBU allowed the Blazers to hit just three of their 12 first half three pointers.
- After the Blazers had trimmed the deficit to 48-40, with 14:50 remaining, the Bucs responded with a 13-7 spurt to take a 61-47 lead with nine minutes left.
- A 12-2 run by VSU cut the lead to 66-60 with five minutes left.
- An old-fashioned three point play by Jacolbey Owens cut the lead to 77-74 with 21 seconds remaining.
- CBU made four straight free throws to seal the victory.
