Bucs Use Big Second Half to Knock Off West Florida

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • UWF held the Bucs to just 1-6 from the floor to help it take an early 9-2 lead. 
  • A pair of free throws gave the visitors a 17-8 lead midway through the first half. 
  • After the Bucs found themselves trailing 19-8, they used a 20-12 run to cut the halftime deficit to 31-28. 
  • The teams combined to shoot just 22-60 in the first half, with CBU going 11-31. UWF was held to just 1-6 from long range in the opening 20 minutes. 
  • UWF scored six of the first nine points to start the second half, giving it a 37-31 lead with 16:38 left. 
  • The Bucs reeled off an 18-9 run to take a 55-49 lead with 8:02 left. 
  • West Florida tied the game at 71 with 2:54 left, but the Bucs used back-to-back jumpers by Christian Jones and Aiden Ruthsatz to help seal the victory.
