Bucs Fall in Triple Overtime Thriller to Auburn Montgomery

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • AUM started the contest by scoring seven of the first nine points.
  • After the Bucs trimmed the lead to 9-7, at the 15:01 mark, they used an 11-5 run to take an 18-14 lead with 8:19 left in the half.
  • The Bucs scored 10 of the final 15 points in the half to take a 28-21 lead into halftime. 
  • CBU was 5-10 from three point range in the opening half. 
  • The visitors opened the second half on a 19-8 run to take a 40-36 lead with 14:10 left.
  • CBU responded with a 14-3 spurt to take a 50-43 lead with 9:51 remaining in regulation. 
  • AUM then reeled off seven straight points over the next 2:07 to tie the game at 50.
  • With 4:28 left, a jumper by Aiden Ruthsatz gave the Bucs a 57-52 lead. 
  • The Warhawks held the Bucs to just two points the rest of the way to send the game into overtime. 
  • CBU had its best chance to win in the first overtime, trailing 66-65, but missed the front end of two free throws with just two seconds left. 
  • Charlie Champagne helped bring the Bucs erase a six point deficit, with 57 seconds left in the second overtime, after calmly sinking a pair of three pointers. 
  • The second three point make from Champagne came with just three seconds left. 
  • After both teams had a two point lead in the third overtime, a layup by Christian Jones tied the game at 81 with 34 seconds left. 
  • Bozeman bled down the clock, and saw his layup attempt fail, but Tucker was there for the offensive rebound and buzzer-beating jumper to give the visitors the win. 
KEY STATS | NOTEABLES
  • After outscoring AUM 28-21 in the first half, the Bucs were outscored 62-53 the rest of the way. 
  • CBU finished just 14-24 from the free throw line, including a combined 2-6 in the first two overtimes. 
  • AUM was 46 percent from the floor (29-63), 5-15 from beyond the three point line and 20-26 from the free throw stripe. 
  • The Bucs owned the glass 50-37. 
  • Christian Jones led the Bucs with 20 points. He also added 10 rebounds to earn his first career double-double. 
  • Opong Bramble (10 points 11 rebounds) also collected his first career double-double. 
  • Fahmmi Mamo knocked down three of his four three point attempts to finish with a career-high 13 points.
