Bucs See Comeback Fall Short in Loss to Indianapolis

MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University men's basketball team trailed by 20 points at halftime, and saw its comeback bid fall just short, in a 68-59 loss to Indianapolis, on Tuesday night, at Canale Arena. 

The Bucs cut the lead to 52-48, at the midway point of the second half, but saw the comeback fall just short. UINDY (Great Lakes Valley Conference) has spent a majority of the early portion of the season ranked in the NABC Top 25, but recently dropped out of the poll.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Greyhounds used a hot start to take a 25-13 lead at the midway point of the first half. 
  • UINDY held the Bucs scoreless for the final 6:48 of the half to take a 40-20 lead into halftime. 
  • The visitors shot 54 percent in the first half (14-26), while the Bucs were held to just 6-25. 
  • CBU stormed back, using a 21-5 run to cut the lead to 52-48 with 9:26 left. 
  • Madison Monroe scored 12 points to help the Bucs during the run. 
  • UINDY used a 12-4 run to regain control of the contest, taking a 64-52 lead with 3:21 left. 
  • CBU was unable to get back within nine during the final five minutes.

  • After a hot first half, the Greyhounds finished 25-53 (47 percent), including just 5-23 from three point range. 
  • CBU shot 15-29 in the second half, including 7-13 from long range.
