Bucs Can't Overcome Cold Shooting in Loss to Mississippi College

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A closely contested opening 10 minutes saw the visitors take a 19-14 lead. 
  • Trailing 22-14, the Bucs reeled off a 9-0 run to take a 23-22 lead with 5:56 left in the half. 
  • MC responded, and took a 35-30 lead at the half. 
  • Neither team scored the final 2:39 of the half. 
  • The Choctaws opened the second half on a 15-5 run to take a 50-40 lead with 12:34 left. 
  • A three point play by Keeving Etienne that cut the lead to 56-49 with 6:48 remaining is the closest the Bucs would get the rest of the way. 

KEY STATS | NOTEABLES
  • The Bucs finished just 19-43 (44 percent) from the floor, including 9-25 (36 percent) in the second half. CBU was just 4-15 from long range. 
  • MC finished 24-51 (47 percent) shooting. The Choctaws hit 11 of their 26 three pointers. 
  • The 53 points for the Bucs is tied for the second lowest scoring output of the season. 
  • MC scored 21 points off 19 CBU miscues.
  • The Bucs outrebounded the visitors 30-26.  
  • Daniel Loos led the Bucs with 14 points. 
  • Nick Deifel added 11 points and a game-high nine rebounds.
