Walk-off Win Helps Bucs Split with West Alabama

GAME ONE: CBU 9 (7-14, 3-7 GSC) West Alabama 8 (6-19, 4-6 GSC)
 
GAME CHANGER:
- After trailing 8-5 in the ninth, the Bucs rallied with four runs to walk it off. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Bucs finished the game with a 14-11 advantage in hits.
- Seven Bucs recorded a hit.
- Travis Cole and Antonio Fernandez led the Bucs with three hits and two RBI's each.
- Jarret Fowlkes, Van True and Kelton Castillo each recorded two hits.
- CBU starting pitcher Travis Cole allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits, with three strikeouts in six innings of work.
- Hayden Smith earned his first win of the season, working two-thirds of an inning, while striking out a pair. 

KEY PLAYS:
- The Tigers capitalized off back-to-back singles and a sac fly to take an early 3-0 lead.
- The Bucs responded with three runs, on four hits, to tie the game at 3.
- The Tigers took the lead after scoring a run in the sixth and seventh.
- Trailing 5-3, Fernandez roped a two-run single to left field to tie the game in the seventh.

- The Bucs had a 5-2 advantage in hits.
- Travis Cole and Keagan Voss recorded two hits a piece.
- Jarret Fowlkes added a hit.
- CBU starting pitcher Sam Brumbaugh surrendered four runs, zero earned, on five hits with five strikeouts in five innings.

KEY PLAYS:
- In the second, the Tigers capitalized on two CBU miscues to take a 2-0 lead.
- The Tigers added a run in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to take a 5-0 lead.
- In the seventh, Alex Meadows got the Bucs on the board with an RBI-fielder's choice to cut the deficit to 5-1.
- With two outs the Bucs had the tying-run at the plate, but UWA closer Gates Pee picked up a strikeout to finish the game.
 
UP NEXT:
The Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Sunday, Mar. 20, when they go for the series win over West Alabama. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
