Bucs Sweep Non-Conference Doubleheader Against Lane

GAME ONE: CBU 9 (4-7), LANE 8 (5-5) (7)
 
GAME CHANGER:
- The Bucs pushed five runs across the plate over the first two innings.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Both teams racked up nine hits in the contest.
- Jarret Fowlkes led the Bucs with three hits, including a double and three runs scored.
- Van True added a two-run home run.
- CBU starting pitcher Garrett Dooley did not allow a run, on two hits, in four innings.

KEY PLAYS:
- The Bucs used a pair of doubles to take an early 3-0 lead after one.
- After a leadoff single in the second, True launched a two-run home run to extend the Bucs lead to 5-0.
- In the sixth, Lane had its first six batters get on base to help tie the game at 5.
- The Bucs added three runs on a pair of doubles and a balk to take an 8-5 lead after five.
- With one out in the seventh, Malcolm Merriweather, of Lane, tied the game at eight with a three-run home run.
- Keagan Voss led-off the inning with a hit by pitch, and later scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch.

GAME CHANGER:
- CBU hit two home runs in the contest. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Dragons finished the game with a 4-3 advantage in hits.
- Three Bucs recorded a hit.
- Jarret Fowlkes and Jake Neese hit solo home runs.
- Matthew McDaniel recorded an RBI-double, his first extra-base hit of the season.
- CBU starting pitcher Joseph Gibson did not allow a run, on two hits, in three innings.
- Relief pitcher Jackson Ryan earned the win, as he allowed one run, on two hits, in four innings of work. 

KEY PLAYS:
- Fowlkes launched a lead-off home run to left field as the Bucs led 1-0 after one. 
- Neese added to the Bucs lead with a lead-off home run the second inning.
- In the fourth, after McDaniel's leadoff double, Voss pushed the run across on a sac-fly.
- The Dragons chipped away at the Bucs lead, by scoring a run in the fifth and sixth innings.
- CBU reliever, Jackson Ryan, retired the Dragons in order in the seventh to earn his first win of the season.

UP NEXT:
The Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, March 5th, when they host conference foe West Florida. First pitch for Saturday's doubleheader is set for noon.
