AUM Rallies Past Bucs on Senior Day

MEMPHIS-  The Christian Brothers University baseball team dropped a 7-3 decision to AUM, on Sunday afternoon, at Nadicksbernd Field.

Before the game, the Bucs honored their four seniors.

FINAL: AUM 7 (28-17, 16-11 GSC) CBU 3 (10-32, 6-21 GSC)
 
GAME CHANGER:
- Zach Dew gave the visitors a 4-3 lead with an RBI-double in the seventh inning.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- AUM finished with a 10-8 advantage in hits.
- Seven different Bucs recorded a hit.
- Keagan Voss led the Bucs with a pair of hits, including his first career home run.
- Antonio Fernandez and Ben Brocato recorded an RBI each.
- CBU starting pitcher Garrett Dooley allowed five runs, on seven hits, with three strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work.
- Warhawks reliever pitcher Sam Steigert did not allow a run in seven innings.

KEY PLAYS:
- The Warhawks got on the board early with an RBI-double in the first to take a 1-0 lead. 
- In the bottom of the frame, the Bucs took advantage of an AUM miscue to take a 2-1 lead. 
- In the third, the Warhawks capitalized off a lead-off single to tie the game at three.
- With two outs in the seventh, AUM recorded back-to-back RBI base hits to take a 5-3 lead.
- The Warhawks added a pair of insurance runs in the ninth to finish the scoring.

UP NEXT:
The Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, April 26, when they travel to Millington, Tenn., to take on non-conference foe LeMoyne-Owen. First pitch is scheduled for 1 PM.
