Bucs Close Out Regular Season with Shutout of Shorter

ROME, Ga. - The Christian Brothers University men's soccer team closed out its regular season with a 2-0 win over Shorter, on Sunday afternoon, at Ben Brady Field. The match marked the final regular season contest for the Bucs.  

CBU finished the regular season in fifth place in the Gulf South Conference standings and will begin their GSC Championship defense at No. 4 seed Auburn Montgomery.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
HALF | A scoreless first half saw both teams finish with nine shots. Max Klink had three stops to keep the match scoreless. 
52' | Marco Osti scored the first of his two goals just seven minutes into the second half.
55' | Osti struck again just less than three minutes later off an assist from Felipe Arteaga
90' | Klink had four saves in the final 33 minutes of the contest.

  • The victory marked the 100th as a college head coach for Enda Crehan. The Galway, Ireland native had 40 wins at Patrick Henry CC (Va.), 29 at Ferrum College (Va. - NCAA DIII) and 31 at CBU. 
  • The Bucs are unbeaten in their last five contests. 
  • CBU has allowed just one goal in the last 380 minutes of play.
