MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University baseball team used a seven-run seventh inning in a 12-4 victory over Brescia (Ky.), on Saturday afternoon, at Nadicksbernd Field.
The contest was the season-opener for both teams.

GAME CHANGER:
The Bucs plated seven runs in the seventh inning, taking advantage of four walks and three hits.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Brescia finished with a 10-7 advantage in hits.
- CBU finished the contest with seven stolen bases.
- Jarett Fowlkes led CBU, finishing 2-2 with a triple, five RBIs and three steals.
- Ben Brocato added a pair of hits in five trips.
- Travis Cole earned the win, allowing three earned runs on nine hits, with nine strikeouts.
KEY PLAYS:
CBU took a 1-0 lead in the third when
Clay Facteau scored Fowlkes on a sac fly.
After CBU took a 4-0 lead in the fifth, Brescia tied the game in the top of the sixth.
Leading 5-4 in the seventh, the Bucs sent 13 batters to the plate to score seven runs. The inning was highlighted by a bases-clearing triple by Fowlkes.
Relief pitchers
Alex Meadows and
Michael Larson finished the game without allowing a run.
NOTEABLES:
- The season-opening win is the first for the Bucs since 2016.
