Indoor Track and Field Earns Multiple Top-Five Finishes at Jaguar Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Christian Brothers University men's and women's track and field teams earned four top-five finishes at the Jaguar Invitational, on Sunday, at the Birmingham Crossplex.

The event, which is hosted by the University of South Alabama, featured multiple NCAA Division I and II institutions.

WOMEN'S NOTABLES:

Oriana Gee continued a solid indoor season, as she claimed a fourth place finish in the 400m with a 56.20. Gee is currently ranked 17^th in NCAA Division II and has the top ranked time in the 400m in the Gulf South Conference.
After earning GSC Freshman of the Week honors, Gioia Scopel finished seventh in the high jump with a 1.64m (5.38 feet), which also set a new program record. Scopel has the top ranked high jump in the GSC this season. She also ran 9.06 to finish in 15th place in the 60m hurdles.

MEN'S NOTABLES:

Leo Stefanski was the runner-up in 800m with a 1:53.40. His time is currently ranked fourth in the GSC.
Marc Crespi defeated multiple NCAA Division I competitors to finish in second place in the 400m with a 48.74. Crespi currently ranks fourth in the event in the GSC.
Anton Lindberg set a new program record with a 4:15.68 to finish ninth in the mile.

WHAT'S NEXT:
The CBU men's and women's teams are scheduled to return to Birmingham, on Tuesday, Feb. 14, for the GSC Indoor Championships.
