Big First Half Helps Bucs Power Past Shorter

ROME Ga. – The Christian Brothers University men's basketball team outscored Shorter 48-27 in the opening half of a 91-73 win, on Saturday afternoon, at the Winthrop-King Centre.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A Jailen Anderson layup gave CBU a 14-2 lead just 4:32 in to the contest. 
  • After Anias Futrell knocked down a three-pointer, the Bucs took a 30-12 lead with 9:40 left in the opening half. 
  • Andrew Eberhardt converted a fastbreak layup to give CBU a 48-27 lead going into halftime. 
  • CBU shot a blistering 69 percent (20-29) in the first half, including 5-8 from three-point range. 
  • The Bucs held Shorter to just 10-27 (37 percent) shooting in the opening half. 
  • A layup from Christian Jones gave CBU a 67-40 lead, with 13:29 left in the game. 
  • CBU extended its lead to 83-51 with 7:28 remaining. 
  • Shorter closed the game on a 16-6 run to finish the scoring.

  • The Bucs have won nine straight games against Shorter.
